The Bogdinsko-Baskunchakskiy Nature Reserve invites undergraduate and graduate students to cooperate.
Our Research Department without help of coming researchers would not be able to conduct all necessary tasks. Basically, it is also a kind of volunteering, just professional.
The Bogdinsko-Baskunchakskiy Nature Reserve is located in the northeast of Astrakhan Region, on the shores of salt Lake Baskunchak. The unique natural complex of salt dome elevations, including the highest in the Caspian depression a real mountain – Big Bogdo – has attracted attention of scientists since the early years of scientific research of Russia. Academician Peter Simon Pallas and other participants of the first geographic expeditions of Catherine the Great’s era were repeatedly here. In more recent times, Lake Baskunchak and Mount Bogdo were visited by lots of famous Russian and Soviet natural scientists: botanists, zoologists, and geographers. And, nevertheless, the nature of the surroundings of the salt lake is still a vast field for the implementation of perspective scientific papers.
Since the beginning of the XXI century, the Bogdinsko-Baskunchakskiy Reserve, established in 1997, has become a main base for studying this unique part of Russia. Enthusiastic about their work, the fewer Scientific Department of the nature reserve are always helped by researchers from various Russian universities and scientific centers. We are especially pleased that not only experienced and reputable scientists, but also young generation, just starting their way in science, partakes in our work. If you are an ambitious young researcher, planning qualification work (diploma, master’s, PhD), and your specialty is connected with the study of nature (animals, plants, microorganisms, soil, landscape, and etc.) – our doors are open for you.
